A striking example of beautiful multicolored cased art glass most likely originating from one of several European countries. I suspect either England, the Bohemian region or possibly Italy could be countries of origin. The ewer exhibits beautiful multicolored stripes of varying widths originating from the rough pontil on the bottom and culminating at the top rim. This outer layer is cased to an opaline white layer of glass which enhances the multiple hues of color. A clear applied handle with several rounded points attaches to one side. The pitcher stands 9 1/4” tall and measures approximately 4 1/2” from spout to back of handle. Thorough examination reveals no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. I see no cracks or heat checks in the handle or at points of attachment. I did notice some slightly dark areas on the very bottom of the inside, not sure if from original production or post factory use. The darkness does not detract from the beauty of the piece nor can be viewed on the bottom from the outside. A beautiful example to brighten any table or sunroom. Thank you for viewing my shop.
