Bartolozzi fecit London, printed in brown ink, it portrays a sybil or female prophet / oracle, sitting with an open book. A Sibyl Reading etching is part of the collection of The Philadelphia Museum of Art. Francesco Bartolozzi RA (1727-1815) was an engraver, etcher, and painter, born in Florence, 1727; died in Lisbon, 1815. He was a superb draughtsman. His fame grew rapidly, became Royal Engraver to King George III and member of the Royal Academy. Beautifully matted and framed, ready to display. Stratford-upon-Avon, England framer label on reverse.
