A beautiful antique Sumak woolen rug woven in the early 20th Century by the nomadic tribes that wandered with their sheep and camels in the area of Northern Persia, Turkey and the Caucasus, carding and spinning their wool, making their own vegetable dyes and hand-weaving their rugs. It is a vibrant mix of colours and styles. Like many of these delicate fabrics, which are more than 100 years old, it has picked up some small imperfections which are highlighted in the photographs. One corner is missing and there are two very small holes (less than half an inch) not very obvious unless you search for them. I will exaggerate any faults as I would like the buyer to be fully aware of them. The rug remains a beautiful item, redolent with history and the price reflects these imperfections
