Lovely free blown swan ornament, likely from the 1930s! The red glass is very thin and fine, typical of this early era of German glass ornament making. This vintage free blown bird or swan has an annealed hook on its back for hanging. Sadly, the original spun glass tail feathers are missing; this is reflected in the price. Amazingly, the beak is still intact after all these years!

The swan measures 4" long, from beak tip to tail base. The blown glass body is 1 & 1/2" wide. The ornament is in fair to good vintage condition with no chips. Slight break in the tail portion of the glass, which would not be noticed when feathers are replaced. Paint shows a lot of wear at the base of the wings, but the rest of the wings have retained most of their beauty. There is some usual minor, age-related oxidation at the tail.

This is a beautiful vintage swan ornament, and would be just gorgeous on a tree. It would be a truly unique gift for a bird enthusiast!
