An early 20th century Sterling silver Vesta case dating just post WW1. It has a Birmingham hallmark for 1919. The makers mark is W.H.M which we have not been able to trace. The most interesting feature is the applied figure of a bulldog which appears original. There is also a substantial suspension ring which has the lion mark for silver. The base has a striker as you would expect.

Condition

Some softening of the detail of the dog through decades of cleaning. Hinge mechanism still good and taught. Normal age related light surface wear. Good sturdy construction.
