MONTBLANC MEISTERSTÜCK 149 FOUNTAIN PEN (18K Diplomat)
Up for your consideration, we are offering a vintage Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Fountain Pen (Diplomat). This luxurious German-made pen features a hand-crafted 18K gold nib with rhodium-coated inlay, paired with a black precious resin, piston-fill barrel featuring an ink viewing window. The cap is made from the same black precious resin and is surmounted by the iconic white star emblem.
Commonly called the Montblanc “Meisterstück” or Masterpiece. The 149 has become the iconic pen of Montblanc. The 149 is the largest fountain pen made by Montblanc and is their flagship pen. The Montblanc Meisterstuck #149 is the company's most famous pen model BY FAR! Be they Montblanc or made of other brands, if one owns a 149 then it becomes the pen to which all others are compared.
With its understated classic elegance, this pen is considered by many to be the gold standard. This well-recognized pen is excellent for signing checks and contracts with its Bold Nib and has been the choice of many world leaders, including John F. Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth II, even the Dalai Lama just to name a few...
If you want to own the pen most Presidents carry, then buy it now! The 149 isn't just standard equipment for presidents (Kennedy, George H.W. Bush, and Barack Obama, to name three), but also for the rich and famous: Diane Keaton, Dustin Hoffman, Donald Trump, Queen Elizabeth II, Eva Green, and Johnny Depp—all have been spotted with a Meisterstück over the years.
If you like a classic design that stands the test of time that will have a value that increases over time even though you use the pen, then this pen is definitely worth it!
This pen appears to be in near-mint condition, the ink view window is clean (no stains), there are no cracks, dents, chips, etc... There are a few micro scratches as would be expected on a like-new lightly used precious resin pen. I tested the piston fill with water and it works perfectly. This pen is ready for you to enjoy!
