We are selling this early oil painting on canvas after Rembrandt. This oil painting is after Rembrandt van Rijn's Self-Portrait as the Apostle Paul dated 1661 and currently housed in the Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands. This small oil painting does not appear to be by Rembrandt, we hope, although it is signed to the left of the figure in the same manner as the original. Based on the age of the original canvas it is possible that it was a studio copy or a copy done by someone passing through the studio. The canvas has been very poorly relined.

Condition: The picture is very dark with heavy darkening to the varnish with some losses and damages to the early canvas. Canvas has been very poorly re-lined.
