This beautiful Antique is a product of the Hartford Silver Plate Co. of Hartford, CT (est.1881). It has an approximate date of production set at or near the year of (1890). The Antique Compote is comprised of: thick, heavy, quality, [Quadruple], Silverplate; as well: thick, heavy, quality, (clear), Intaglio, Pressed-Cut, Glass. The Antique is styled in accordance to the Art Nouveau, artistic period; with some Victorian Era traits being exhibited too. The clarity of the Glass; as well as the Cut, enable for optimum optics, and in turn allow for one to appreciate the craftsmanship involved to create such a Piece. As with many Art Nouveau inspired Antiques, a strong floral theme is portrayed; encircling the Silver, pedestal base. The Glass is naturally affixed to the (Silver) pedestal base, thus permitting for its display on any level surface. Despite the Antique Compote being over (130+) years of age, its condition is noteworthy. There are no: chips, fractures, or cracks, to the Glass; nor is there dimpling to the pedestal base.
