Portrait Sketch of a Young Lady signed Devah Spear (Long Island, New York) 1934 - image 1 of 13

Portrait Sketch of a Young Lady signed Devah Spear (Long Island, New York) 1934
This is a beautiful and masterful mixed media portrait on paper of a young lady.
Signed Devah Spear and dated 1934. From my research, Devah Spear was an artist who operated and lived in Long Island, New York, and also taught art classes in the 1930s under the the government-funded Federal Art Project (FAP) of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) that hired hundreds of artists to create more than 100,000 paintings and murals and over 18,000 sculptures during the Great Depression.
In excellent condition, in the original frame. The frame has some wear to the back, where the paper is torn.
10.75" x 9" (13.5" x 12")
