This bronze letter opener is a souvenir from the Pan American exposition held at Buffalo New York in 1901. 'Pat. applied for' is written at the top of the blade under a ball shaped decoration. A buffalo stands atop this opener. The blade reads '1901' on one side and 'Pan American' on the other. This piece has some discoloration and scratches. The tip is slightly bent and broken off. This well designed letter opener is an interesting ealy expo souvenir.
