This decorative plate was made by Taylor Smith Taylor (TST). It has their v shaped TST mark on the back as well as the phrase "miniature of famous painting" in gold. The painting reproduced on this plate depicts a white mare and her foal greeting a hound and her 7 pups at their stall door. This charming scene is well done with nice detail. TST made this plate sometime between 1900, when they began production and the late 1920's. There is a hole to hang the plate if desired. This plate originally had a gold rim but the gold color has worn off over the years. The glaze is crazed. This shows more on the bottom. The crazing can be seen in the design if you inspect the plate under good lighting but for the most part it is not noticeable. The plate is in good condition overall with no chips, cracks or repairs. This attractive, approximately 100 year old plate would look great displayed on its own or with a collection.
