This set of matching cast iron doorstops was made by Connecticut Foundry in the 1930's. They depicted an Airedale terrier and are titled 'My Pal'. Each is marked on the back with Connecticut Foundry's C in a triangle trademark, the name 'pal', and a copy right date of 1929. They stand almost 7 inches tall to the top of the terrier's head. The base is a little under 8 inches across at the widest and 2 inches deep. The more commonly seen polychrome version of this doorstop can be seen in John & Nancy Smith's Doorstop Encyclopedia. This pair has a bronze finish. One dog looks a little darker than the other to me. The bronze color on these is in good condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs to the iron. This is a great cast iron pair.
