Ornately decorated with hundreds of beads, this is a wonderful Victorian Sewing Pin Cushion Boot. It measures 7" tall and up to 4 1/2" wide. The top part displays a beaded stem with leaves. The bottom part has a lovely large bird and a flower. The glass beads colors are clear, amber, green, and turquoise. The whole boot edge is beaded. Across the bottom are ten dangling loops of beads. There is still a nice beaded strap for hanging. I find no missing beads. For its age, the brown front fabric is in good condition. The backside fabric is faded and stained with small tears.
A lot of artistic handwork went into this lovely piece of Victorian Art Whimsy item circa 1850's - 1900. These items are hard to find, especially in this good of condition. Don't miss out on this Victorian treasure!
I have recently been told, this item was probably made by a Native American Indian from a tribe living in the Dakotas' during the late 1800's.
