Here's a bold and handsome antique Victorian signet ring in 835 silver!
At its center this fabulous ring features a large engraved monogram in elegant and creative Victorian lettering.
Framing the oval monogram plaque is an ornate design of acanthus leaf scrolls which extend down the ring's shoulders. The design retains its original time-created patina, enhancing its antique beauty. Acanthus leaves have long been used as a symbol of rebirth, immortality, resurrection.
The ring is hefty and imposing, at 13.8 grams; a true statement piece! It's stamped on the band's interior with 835 (a grade of silver), and acid testing confirms the silver is around 835. We date this elegant ring c1880-1905, in the Victorian to early Edwardian eras.
