Here’s a stunningly beautiful antique or early vintage old European cut diamond engagement ring in 14K white gold!

Likely dating c1920-1930, this gorgeous diamond cluster ring features a center diamond of over 1 ct and ten additional diamonds for an estimated combined weight of ~2.5 carats! We believe it was an engagement ring or engagement/wedding ring combination, but could have been simply an eye-catching cocktail or dinner ring.

The band of this lovely estate ring is stamped with a partially worn 14K hallmark on its interior, and acid testing confirms the gold is 14k. The center diamond is held by four ornamental prongs, and has inclusions visible under magnification. Four additional diamonds of substantial size grace the ring's crown, and six smaller pavé-set diamonds ornament the ring's shoulders.

The diamonds are deep, displaying the old European style of faceting (abbreviated as OEC), which was developed in Europe and popular from 1890 to 1930. They feature a round shape similar to more modern stones but are deeper and their facets were meticulously hand-cut. We believe it is of late Art Deco creation, as displays a dawning of the boldness seen in the later Retro period while retaining the delicate milgrain edges often seen in Edwardian or Art Deco jewelry.
