*Vintage Mexico Diaz Santoyo Sterling Eagle Mark 1 Buckle

Small in stature, but huge on design this sterling belt buckle from Mexican silversmith Diaz Santoyo is a real beauty. Measuring 2 1/4" by 1 1/8" and weighing 26.2 grams. Will accommodate a belt o 1" wide. Please note it does not have the usual "tongue" to put through a belt hole so I'm not sure how it would be used. Hallmarked Mexico Sterling with a five pointed crown, an early mark of Diaz Santoyo and the eagle mark 1. I think it likely this stunner dates to the late 1940s – 1950s
