For sale here is a striking ATOMIC vintage 1950s 60s handmade mixed metals Space Age modernist table-top sculpture. A swooping golden metal tube bends upward and curves around a couple times before returning to the base. At center is a silver and copper colored metal atomic figure or starburst, depending on how you look at it. The sculpture is attached to a painted black or dark gray rectangular metal base with felt underneath to protect whatever surface it rests on. Measures 9.5" tall including the base by 12.5" wide by 5.5" deep, and weighs about 10 pounds prior to packing. Unmarked as far as I can see, and likely had a gallery label originally or other paperwork that has been lost over the years. In any case, a striking and quite attractive modernist sculpture! In excellent vintage condition with some light wear in spots to the metal surfaces as shown - this only added to the charm of the piece in my opinion, and after all it is about 70 years old by now - please view the photos, read the description, and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
