"The Dancing Faun with Clappers". Cymbals in hands, foot on a scabellum (a cymbal or percussion instrument). This nude, after the antique, was cast after the 17th c. marble model by Isaak Duchemin and inscribed Isaak Duchemin on the top of the base. Fine black patination. The figure is posed by a tree stump in a very active and joyful bearing, a happy expression on his face, as would befit a faun. 19th century.

Condition: Very good. Some slight scratching in areas from handling over the last 170 years.
