Mary is showing a slight smile in this photograph. Her hair is pulled back with shorter hair around the face, very stylish. She is wearing earrings and a locket on her choker. The low cut dress has lace around the neckline. It is a bit unusual to have a profile photo. The photographer is A. Vandyke, Bold Street, Liverpool. The back has an advertisement as well as hand-written identification of Mary E. Brigley Oct, 1882. The writing was by Leah Frances Bartow. The condition is a bit rough in that the lamination of the photo to the card is loose. There is a bit of soil as well. The card measures 4 1/4" x 6".
