This oval frame is a thin metal that has been painted gold. It feels like brass but I cannot confirm due to the gold paint. It is oval measuring 5 1/2" x 3 3/4". There is glass over the photograph of a mother and child. The backing is wood with hangers attached providing for vertical or horizontal handing. Metal tabs hold the backing in place. I took the backing off and found the photo has a date written as 1908. The wood has a label indicating Best British Workmanship with a B ltd. The glass has a mall chip on one edge. It does not show with the frame in place.
