"Master Builders of the Animal World", was written by David Hancocks and published by Harper & Row. Copyrighted in 1973, this is a stated first edition.
The dust jacket reads:
Long before our primitive ancestors had the intelligence to seek out caves for shelter, other animals on this planted were already accomplished at building elaborate structures for the protection of themselves and their families from the elements and their natural enemies. Many species had even evolved a social order which found expression in the animals' constructions.
This hard-cover, vintage book has black and white photographs as well as illustrations throughout. The book is 144 pages in length and is in good vintage condition. The blackboards have minimal wear. The inside pages are clean and the binding is tight. Inside the front cover has what appears to be remnants of a first page but the title page and all other intro pages seem to be there so I'm not quite sure if this is original or not. The dust jacket has been taped inside the front cover and some lifting from the tape has happened. The dust jacket is in good vintage condition with minimal scuffing and wear. The corners and spine have mild wear and the top edge has some waviness and a crease (see photos).
