This wooden white crib is personalized for Ginnette! This is the second version of Ginnette's crib that was made by Strombecker beginning in 1957. The bed was made especially for Vogue's 8" Ginnette Baby Doll and is in Very Good Condition!
Strombecker also created their own line of furniture for 8" dolls that were solid wood but were unpainted. The furniture that Strombecker created specifically for Vogue's Ginnette was painted this creamy white and decorated with her name in pink. Ginnette's furnishings carry a babyish motif; the Teddy Bear, Turtle, and an Elephant.
The first Crib (from 1956) had a turtle and flowers motif. The motif and style changed with this crib beginning in 1957. The turtle and Ginnette's name remain on the foot board and an elephant and teddy bear were added to the motif. Additionally, the style of the headboard and foot board changed to one solid piece of wood each. The bottom is slatted. One side of the crib was made be able to move up and down but this one is now stationary and doesn't move. The crib remains sturdy and in good condition. There are minor rubs and nicks to the white paint indicating the passage of time. The bed measures 11" long x 6" high x 5 5/8" wide.
An original mattress is included. The bedding also by Vogue includes the solid pink top sheet and the pastel striped fitted sheet and pillow case (with pillow).
Though not absolutely perfect, Ginnette's Crib and Bedding are clean, very nice and ready to display!
