This hand blown Murano glass ewer has an ovoid body with a narrow neck and features fine net zanfirico decoration executed in white. The neck flares out gently and terminates in a wide mouth with an elongated spout reminiscent of a bird's beak. The piece is finished with a clear arched handle to one side.
The ewer is in very good antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. As a mouth blown piece, it should be noted that there are production related irregularities present in the glass which include small air bubbles that are mentioned for accuracy. The piece has a rough pontil and is not signed. The piece stands 4" tall as measured to the uppermost part of the spout. The body is 2.25" across at its widest point and 1.25" across at the mouth. The piece weighs in at 2.5 oz.
This striking ewer displays beautifully and would be a great addition to an existing collection of antique Italian art glass. An elegant find!
