This delightful view shows an Indian village in Kasaan, Alaska. The back of the view tells us that Kasaan means "Pretty Town". This is one of three villages on Prince of Whales Island, Alaska. The Haida Indians, who still occupy these villages, are very artistic and know for the particularly graceful canoes, which are carved out of a single log. They are also noted for their beautifully-carved totem poles and their substantial homes. This view is in very good condition with only a little rubbing of the picture at the bottom left corner. What an interesting addition to any stereo view collection this will be.
