Vintage Soda Fountain Syrup Dispenser with Nesbitt’s Advertising - image 1 of 13

This syrup dispenser would have been found in on an old soda fountain's back bar to advertise the syrup company, in this case Nesbitt’s. A bottle of syrup would have been inverted onto the top of the bowl and then the flavored syrup would be dispensed into a glass and soda water would have been added. The clear, thick glass looks like many old Heisey pieces but the bottom has information molded that reads; C.A.Look – Pat. Pending – McLaughlin Glass Co. L.A.Cal.. The top bowl has horizontal ridges on the exterior. The base portion has horizontal ridges on the exterior and vertical ridges on the inside. Across the back, the side opposite the spigot it is etched; Nesbitt’s. This would have shown up nicely with a colored syrup like root beer or lime. The spigot appears to be made of nickeled brass and it is marked Central. Pushing the button on the end opens the valve to release the liquid. I believe this is from the 1930’s. It is very heavy weighing over 8 pounds!

It measures about 10 ¼” tall. It measures about 6 ¼” in diameter across the top and about 8 3/8” in diameter across the bottom. It is in good condition with light wear. There are a few small nicks on a few of the ridges and on the inside edge of the top edge. There are several larger nicks along one side of the bottom edge which I have shown in the photos. There is also a rust stain on the glass which I have also shown in the photos. The nickel on the nickel on the spigot is in good original condition with minimal wear. There would have been a rubber gasket in the groove around the top edge so the bottle (not included) wouldn’t be sitting glass on glass. I have used a piece of rubber tubing for that in the past.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
