These old paper booklets are from the Pillsbury Grand National Bake-Off contests that were held at places like the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York and the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California. 100 contestants vied for the prestige and prize money in this yearly event which was hosted by Art Linkletter. Ann Pillsbury does the preface in all of the books.
Included in this lot are four booklets starting with the 6th Bake-Off which was held in 1954 and ending with the 1957 9th contest. Each book is filled the easy to follow recipes, glossy black and white and colored pictures and occasional stories about the contest and the contestants and advertising of the period. 25c was the original price for each booklet.
