Large Vintage Woodworker's Tool - Combination Tool with Chisel Bit - image 1 of 6

This is a very nice antique combination tool in a large size. The beautiful handle is possibly made of rosewood and the end cap screws off to open the compartment where an assortment of interchangeable bits would be stored. This has only one bit with it, a 3/8” gouge chisel. The knurled area is for releasing the chuck and the ferrule appears to be plated brass. I am not able to find a maker on the tool and there are no marks on the blade. I assume it is from the late 1800’s or early 1900’s.

It measures about 7 58” long from the butt of the handle to the chuck and it is nice condition. The handle has light nick and scuff wear from use but I find no damage. The plating is partially worn on the ferrule so the brass is showing through and there is minimal discoloration on the chuck. The chisel bit measures about 4” in length and it shows some use wear.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
