What a beautiful Victorian era piece! This is a 19th century silver plated bun warmer (or muffins if you should so choose). It has a curved and fluted clamshell shape. Even the outer top center of the clamshell is chased with a brilliant-cut design. The round handles are a floral garland on one side, plain on the other. The clamshell mechanism opens to a beautiful, pierced and lacy looking, scalloped edge platform. The legs are hoof-shaped. The trim around the top handle includes griffins. Made & signed by Mappin and Webb. It would look extremely fine on any table setting - especially yours!
**Size** It is 10" tall and 8" wide
**Condition** In beautiful undamaged condition with just minor age wear as shown.
