Offered for your consideration is this wonderful, whimsical decorative pottery piece thrown by the English potter, Paul Berman.
It’s reminiscent of the Rolling Stones Tongue and Lips motif, and, in all likelihood, was made as a toilet roll hanger.
It’s an early work, made a year after Paul had left the Stroud College of Art, and is clearly marked PB circa 1979.
This unique piece would require a wire to be fashioned coupled with a roll holder in order to hang from the holes in the hands. This is like those old holders we had 40 to 50 years ago.
Quite a unique piece whether as a roll holder, or even a hand towel holder, or whatever the creative mind could fashion. Looks great even on its own.
A nice addition to your slipware pottery college, it measures 6 3/4” x 5”, and is in very good condition without chips or cracks.
The piece will ship at 3 lbs.
