HERE’S AN OUTSTANDING 24” X 32” SIGNED AND DATED 1966 ORIGINAL VINTAGE MODERN MIDCENTURY OIL-ON-CANVAS PAINTING BY AN AMERICAN ARTIST “SLATER” THAT DISPLAYS AN AGGRESSIVE ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONIST COMPOSITION OF COLORS AND BRUSH STROKES RENDERED AROUND THE PERIMETER AS SOFTER AND MORE REFLECTIVE BUT CULMINATING IN THE CENTER AS GESTURAL AND HARSH – WITH RED, WHITE AND BLACK BEING DOMINANT!
Please Note: This signed original 1960s Abstract Expressionist oil-on-canvas painting still retains its original black-painted wooden frame, most likely selected by the artist.
The painting’s overall color palette includes red, white, black, orange, blue, and green.
Dimensions: The painting itself measures approximately twenty four inches (24”) in height by thirty two inches (32”) in width. The overall dimensions of black-painted wood frame are approximately twenty five and one half inches (25 1/2”) in height by thirty three and one half inches (33 1/2”) in width.
Signature: Signed toward the bottom right corner “SLATER ‘66”
Provenance: Acquired from an estate in Monterey, California during the early 1990s.
Condition: The front side of the oil-on-canvas painting itself is in excellent and clean condition -- absolutely beautiful! However, and Please Read, the painting’s backside canvas shows age-related brown spotting. The black-painted wooden frame is in very good and clean condition but does have some small scratches and markings.
Unfortunately, no information can be located about the American artist “Slater” at the time of this writing.
