HERE’S A BEUTIFULLY-MADE ORIGINAL VINTAGE SIGNED MINIATURE MODERN ETCHING BY GERMAN ARTISTS RIES & HEINTZ TITLED “GREVENBURG” THAT DISPLAYS A CENTRAL CIRCULAR IMAGE OF THE GREVENBURG CASTLE RUINS IN RHINELAND-PALATINATE, GERMANY SURROUNDED BY A BORDER DESIGN OF GRAPE VINES ON A TRELLIS!
Please Note: The first artist “Ries” is actually German artist Kurt Gerd Ries (b. 1955-). From 1987 to 1997, Ries collaborated with another artist named “Heintz” (currently unknown) to create motifs from Germany as original etchings, which included castles, palaces, cityscapes, monuments, churches, monasteries, and natural beauties. The etchings were made piece by piece in solid, traditional handwork in their printing workshop known as “The Edition”
Signed in pencil along the etching’s bottom margin that reads from left to right: “Original Radierung “Grevenburg” (along with both of the artists’ initials). In addition, there is an original artist’s label on the frame’s backside that reads: “Originalradierung Ries & Heintz”
Dimensions: The approximate size of the central circular image of the Grevenburg Castle Ruins is two inches (2”) in diameter. The overall size of the etching’s image with the grape vines is four by four inches (4” X 4”). The etching’s paper size (sheet size) that can be viewed within the frame is five and one half by five and one half inches (5 ½” X 5 1/2”) but is most likely larger as it extends underneath the frame’s inside border. The overall dimensions of the frame are approximately six and three quarters by six and three quarters inches (6 ¾” X 6 ¾”).
Condition: The etching itself looks to be in excellent and clean condition – absolutely beautiful! And the frame is in excellent and clean condition with a couple of very small scuffs. Overall, still very nice!
