For sale is a vintage, possibly antique, super primitive handmade folk art knife box or cutlery tray in old apple green paint. I found it on a recent trip to the Midwest, and was immediately attracted to the color. The tray is divided in half, and has an apron around the bottom. In addition, the name "Harry Barnski" is incised onto the bottom, which I assume would be the maker's name. The box measures about 12" long, 9" wide, and 4 1/2" tall including the handle, and is in primitive vintage condition, with good signs of age and use, including paint wear, and a few small areas of missing wood. It should also be noted that although the paint is old, probably dating to the 1920's-30's, I don't think it is original. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description, and be sure to ask any questions. What a terrific addition to your primitive decor!
