The concentric rings on these opaque black glass shakers by Hazel Atlas will lend interest to any table decor. The slender urn shape tapers down to a circular foot. This #3530 shaker shape was featured in transparent pastel colors in Hazel Atlas catalogs between 1936 and 1939 and the tops were described as being "Nickel Plated Brass Tops." However, Hazel Atlas produced black glass earlier in the 1930s, so these particular shakers may date to earlier in that decade. The only difference between the salt and the pepper is the size of the holes on the top.
Each shaker measures 3-1/2 inches tall, 3-inches without the tops, and 1-1/2 inches in diameter.
Made by Hazel-Atlas Glass during the 1930s, each is marked with the embossed HA on the bottom.
Other than the expected minor wear characteristic of Depression Era Glass there is no damage to the glass shakers. The original metal tops are worn, slightly tarnished, and dented.
