Roseville Freesia Delft Blue #1296 Wall Pocket - image 1 of 11

Offered for your consideration is this Delft Blue Freesia Wall Pocket made by Roseville Pottery of Zanesville, Ohio, and numbered #1296. This pretty wall pocket vase is decorated with an upward curving spray of white freesia in raised relief. From tight bud to fully open, the sprig of seven blossoms is accented with raised, slender green leaves. Glazed in Roseville’s beloved Delft Blue, the background has a rippling water effect.

Measuring 8-1/2 inches from the top rim to the point at the bottom and 6-1/4 inches across the handles, the opening at the top of the vase is 5-inches by 2-3/4 inches.

Produced by Roseville circa 1945, the wall pocket is marked on the back with the raised Roseville name, followed by “U.S.A. 1296-8” There are also some handwritten numerals in black.

There is a white spot caused by a glaze slip on the corner of one handle. This is smooth and can’t be felt. There are no other signs of damage, but this vase will require some gentle cleaning. To avoid causing any damage, I will leave that to you. There is a hole on the back for hanging.
