Cordelia China Ohio Pottery White Kitten Figurine c. 1940s - image 1 of 10

This sweetly feminine white Persian Cat by Cordelia China of Ohio wears a large bow in deep sage green at her throat to accent her pale green eyes. A yellow pointed hat is jauntily perched on top of her head, with an applied pink rose with two porcelain leaves in decoration. Her nose, mouth, and inner ears are the palest pink, and her green eyes have large dark pupils. Her shiny white coat shows lifelike waves, and she is delicately poised with her long tail curled around her feet.

Cordelia was a short-lived Ohio Pottery Company well known for its animal figurines. Cordelia China opened in 1944 and closed in 1952.

This adorable kitten measures 4-inches tall and 2-5/8 inches by 2-3/4 inches at the base.

“Cordelia” is incised in the bottom, and there is also an illegible black back stamp, that likely read "©Cordelia China."

This little beauty has been treated well. As is often the case with porcelain rose ornamentation, there is a small chip on one petal of the porcelain rose on her hat, but I find no other damage to this sweet kitten.
