This is a wonderful Culver 22Karat-gold decorated Detroit Motor City Ford Model Beer Stein Mug. An antique car buff will know whether this is a Ford Model A or Model T, but I hesitate to make that definitive call on the antique auto beautifully designed in 22-Karat gold on this mug by Culver Glass. The front and back of the mug each have a frosted panel, framed in textured gold, depicting the antique sedan, with the words “Detroit/The Motor City/©Perrin" beneath, all beautifully done in gold. Rich braided bands of 22-Karat gold ring the top and bottom of the mug. The balance of the glass has a textured glass frosted ripple effect, also distinctively recognizable as Culver. One look and it is easy to see why ornately decorated glassware by Culver has become some of the most sought-after Mid Century barware. What an excellent addition to any barware collection!
This sturdy glass mug measures 5-5/8 inches tall, and 3 inches in diameter with the handle adding another two inches to the overall width.
Issued by Culver circa the 1970s to 1980s, it is stamped "©Culver" in gold just above the bottom gold band.
There is some wear to the gold bands at the top and bottom of the mug, but the gold on the automobile design is not worn. There are no chips or cracks.
