A very nice late Victorian stamp holder for a chatelaine or watch chain. Saunders & Shepherd were London based silversmiths who were registered at a number of provincial assay offices including Birmingham and Chester. This is typical of the small pieces they would make that were of nice quality and well designed. The condition looks good, though the leading edge of the tray looks very slightly distorted.
