This horse pendant is a late Victorian jewel dating from around 1890.

This wonderful equine beauty is of superb quality - he is super weighty at 12 grams of solid 18 karat gold. He literally does feel like a lump of gold In your hand. The 3D depiction of this glorious animal is so life like! The fine chasing all around is just divine, he has a lovely, silky coat on him !! Whoever engraved this pendant was a true master engraver. Originally an antique pin, we removed the brooch fitting and added a 9 karat gold bale in matching colour golden yellow gold. The pendant is not hallmarked , hence we had him tested to confirm the gold content to 18 karat. We had him re-gilded in 18 karat gold to the original buttery yellow gold tone he had before the pin removal.

The pendant's total length with the bale is 35.03 mm and the horse itself measures 28.15 by 16.21 by 7.17 mm. It is in lovely antique condition.
