Serpents symbolise eternal love, a connotation popularised by Prince Albert's snake engagement ring to his beloved Queen Victoria, presented to her in 1839. Interestingly, it was Victoria who proposed to Albert as the queen, but he got to present her with a ring that started a fashion that is still very much going strong !! Snakes at the time represented wisdom and commitment as well as never ending love. They are as popular now as they were then and carry the same sentiment.

Our Mr Snake here is a statement type of a ring. It is chunky and weighty, simple in design yet attractively decorated with super deep engraving to emphasize its scaly beauty. The lovely patina makes the engraving appear to have a Niello like effect, it is not Niello though. This snake will appeal both to ladies and gents and would make a fabulous pinky ring as well as a wedding band with the difference. It coils stylishly around your finger looking ever so cool and edgy.

He dates back to the second half of the 20th Century and is marked 925 for Sterling silver. He measures 14.06 mm north to south (body and head) and weighs a fantastic 9.6 grams. He will fit a size US 5 1/8 to 5 3/8 or UK K-K 1/2. He is not resizable sadly unless you opt for a couple of silver bobbles inside the band to make him smaller - we can help with that !
