This is a Bibikabad runner form 1920's in a typical Herati pattern dominant in the ivory field and the two dark blue medallions. These rugs are part of the versatile production from the Hamadan weaving region of Western Persia. Herati pattern is seen on many Bibikabads from runners to 4x6's and room size carpets. Bibikabads have a finer weave than typical Hamadans and offer a more detailed and smaller scale pattern. Besides ivory and blue the accent tones include yellow, light and royal blue, dark green, red and pink. The pile is lowish, but even, with some scattered restorations to the pile. The runner has been cleaned professionally. For more information please email us or call us at 212-268-5876.
