This Victorian hat pin is very unusual in shape and texture. The shape could be described as a question mark, depending on one's view point. The head, in the a fore mentioned shape, has been painted in a matte gold hue over a form. It is 2-1/2 inches long, but width is hard to determined so it is estimated at 1/4 inch. The outstanding feature is that it resembles the design of dead coral It terminates in a gold painted 25mm .bead. The pin shank is 3-3/4 inches long and fits directly into the bead, piercing the head straight up. The shank is brass, matching the coloration applies to the head. The hat pin is in excellent Antique condition. It will definitely stand out in any collection!
The is another hat pin from Charlotte's personal collection.
