Georgian toddy ladle with an inset George III Gold Half Guinea Coin in the bowl. The gold coin is dated 1802. This is an unusual shape with pouring spouts. It has a long baleen twisted handle. Baleen is part of a whale's filtration system which is heated and shaped. It has a monogram on the sterling handle. The ladle is 14 5/8" long. It is in good antique condition.
Toddy is a traditional English mulled beverage made from ale, whiskey, eggs, sugar and spices. It is served on special holidays like Christmas and New Year's Eve.
